Mark appearing on Shropshire Radio’s Folk Program, 15th July 6pm-8pm

It’s many years since I was last in the Shropshire radio studios. Dear old Richard Walker was still alive then and we had a good old natter about harps and music. He invited me to select my favourite 10 folk tracks which was fun. I’m pretty sure my selections would be different now. Such a lot of wonderful folk music has been produced since then! Choosing just 10 would be vastly more difficult!

I’ll be talking about our new CD, Queen of the Rushes and my love affair with the Celtic Harp as well as reading from my latest children’s  book, ‘Crazy Animal Poems’. I’ll also be talking about my latest project ‘A Shropshire Child’, inspired by A.E Housman and Shropshire poet and novelist, Mary Web – an ongoing quest to rediscover my Shropshire roots.

If you love folk and acoustic music and haven’t discovered Shropshire radio’s Sunday folk program yet, then why not wrap your ears around it and sooth those cares away with some truly inspiring sounds!

Mark.

I built this harp back in the 1980s and it has stood the test of time. It is the one I still use but I would love an electro – harp (shouldn’t have gone to hear Rachel Newton recently!)
